22 years and counting

Happy 22nd anniversary to the most amazing parents and couple I have ever met.
You guys have been the best example I could ever possibly ask for, for a godly marriage. Thank you so much for that.
Dad, thank you for always seeking the Lord’s heart, first. Thank you for always respecting Mom. Thank you for being the man of the house. Thank you for being full of patients and grace. Thank you for being the provider and protector. Thank you for being a team with Mom and empowering her. Thank you for giving me an amazing example of what a godly husband should be. I hope that my kids will be able to say the same about their daddy, one day.
Mom, thank you for always seeking the Lord’s heart, first. Thank you for always respecting Dad and trusting in his decisions. Thank you for showing me what it looks like to be a submissive wife. Thank you for loving Dad..yes, even in front of me- you’re still my parents so it’s still gross, but your marriage is beautiful and so so admired and cherished. Thank you for being a wife and a mother before anything else. Thank you for being the most incredible example I could possibly ask for as to what a godly submissive, loving wife looks like. If I never succeed at anything else, I hope that I can be the wife that you are and the mother that you are.
There is not a single marriage that I don’t compare to yours, and of course none of them even compare. Okay, maybe the Smiths, they are pretty dang close. Being away from you guys and under leadership of so many other couples I have really seen what I want my future marriage to look like, yours. The older I get the more I realize how great you are…yes yes I know, just like you’ve been telling me for the past 20 years that I would. I pray that Micah, Jacob and Abbey will realize the same and SOON. I pray that they never take advantage of what we’ve been given and that we all are one day blessed with a marriage that will be as beautiful of an example of Christ and his bride as you guys have been for the past 22 years.
I can’t praise you guys enough for the ways that I am grateful for you as parents. I miss y’all sooo much! Hope your anniversary is great! I love you lots!

Commision simplicity Download

First of all, I've not been taught this at all, this actually disagrees with everything I've been taught. This is completely my opinion and evaluation of my experiences, throughout my life, not just here at YWAM. Maybe I am completely wrong, and I'm totally flirting with predestination/free will ideas. I'm not asking you to agree with me, nor cause controversy, I just want you to open your mind to the simplicity of God's will. How theology and religion isn't what it's about. God never told us to figure it all out, so don't stress- because you can't, and you wont.
Love God, love people.

Simplicity.

I think that God gave you free will. He's defiantly put specific calling on specific peoples lives, but not necessarily everyone. Such as Moses, God clearly put a very specific calling on his life. But just because he hasn't given one to you does NOT mean that he loves you any less. It's like healing, sometimes he does sometimes he doesn't. Is there a reason? Not most of the time, it's just how life is because sin entered the world. I think that a vase majority of the time God lets people choose.
What do you want to do? Be an engineer.
Great love me and love my people while you're an engineer.
Where do you want to go? Alaska.
Cool, love me and love my people while you're an engineer in Alaska.
God knows what you're going to choose, but he doesn't choose it for you. If he chose it for you, there would be no sin. You don't wake up in the morning with a to do list from God that says take 7 steps to the bathroom pee, use this many sheets a toilet paper and use this many ounces of this kind of shampoo while you use this many gallons of water in the shower... He gives you a choice.
You want a to do list? Here it is- Matt 28:16-20
1. Make disciples of all nations.
2. Baptize them
3. Teach them to obey everything I have commanded (Matt 22:36-38)
Teacher, what is the greatest commandment of all? Jesus replied "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. and the second is to love your neighbor as yourself"

So much has been put into the second part of number one (to all nations) that these 'Radical Christians' are missing the simplicity because they think its all about where you go, not what you do. Radical Christians are more concerned with the path than the goal! If God was worried about the path it took to get to the destination he probably would have given you a map, but he is sovereign, almighty and fully in control so he didn't have to give you a map.

God doesn't need you, but he likes you, so he's going to let you help him.
Moms, do you NEED your 3 year old daughter to help you make cookies? No, but you like her and you enjoy her help.
Dads, do you need your 3 year old son to help you change the oil? No, but you like him and you enjoy his help.

Get married and raise Godly men and women; you're teaching you kids (Luke 6:47-48) to love God and to love people, you are living out the great commission. You're making disciples, you're baptizing them and you're teaching them to love God and love others.

Maybe you want to be a world changer so badly that THAT is the cross that you're picking up and dying to. (Luke 9:23)
Maybe it's not about WHAT you're doing its the state of your HEART. 1 John 3:18
Maybe it JUST OKAY to be an engineer and live in Alaska. You don't have to be with an organization or a group, you are a group- YOU ARE THE CHURCH.
Use the gift God gave you, you can't marry the wrong person, divorce is not okay, love is a choice, JUST LOVE JESUS. It's not going to make everything rosy, but its sure as crap going to give you all the answers! You just have to love God and love people.
If God has given you a heart to be a mommy THAT'S OKAY, HE gave you that heart, you don't have to do it in the deepest darkest places of the earth! No one can change the world, but you, with the authority you carry through the power and love of Jesus, can change a community.
Maybe the Great Commission was meant to be started within your family; family to community, community to state, state to nation, nation to world: world = all nations. I don't believe that everyone is called to over seas missions, that's not what the great commission says.

I've never been taught this and it's not with a rebellious heart that I write these things.
But what if every family in JUST Rome and Floyd county (96,317 people) lived this way? Then how fast and easily would this wild fire burn?

"His holy fire may bring judgment to the wicked, but it builds humility, faith and purity in those who seek an ever-deeper relationship with Jesus. For He promises to bring His faithful remnant "through the fire" and to "refine them as silver is refined." Then, when finished, He "will say, ‘This is My people’; and each one will say, 'The Lord is my God.'"  (Zechariah 13:9)

Matthew 19:6
"So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”

I am truly bless to have such wonderful examples of Proverbs 31 women and Ephesians 5:25 men in my life.

Thank you all for modeling for With Charm & Grace!

P.S. Valentines Day, is stupid.

Counting Down, Day 53

Psalms 53:6
Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When God restores his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!

Night Shot W/C&G

I absolutely love night time shots!
They're extremely hard to capture, but after finally
setting everything up correctly, you just might catch that perfect moment.
So, when my friend asked if I would take a picture
to be the center piece in a room and told me
that he had a night time theme in mind....
I kinda, sorta had a little, baby, freak panic attack.
Then I got over it.

So last night I hiked up this mountain, that just so happened to be a grave yard, in the dark while wearing my sparkly Toms..

I must admit, it was worth it.....

I do believe he will be pleased!

Counting Down, Day 54

This passage is too amazing to just pick one verse, every high school girl should read this every single day.

Psalms 54
Save me, O God, by your name;
vindicate me by your might.
Hear my prayer, O God;
listen to the words of my mouth.

Arrogant foes are attacking me;
ruthless people are trying to kill me—
people without regard for God.

Surely God is my help;
the Lord is the one who sustains me.

Let evil recoil on those who slander me;
in your faithfulness destroy them.
I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you;
I will praise your name, LORD, for it is good.
You have delivered me from all my troubles,
and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes.

Thanks, Angie.

Nail salons are an intimidating place!
Ya know, you walk in and everyone stops
........and stares at you.
"oh hi what you liiike?"
"I uhm..I uh..pedicure. I.. I.. I would 'liiike' a pedicure"
Now every snobby, tropical nails regular is like 'what does this chick have a st st st-udder?
"pick color you liiike"
okay okay color, right..now you're all paranoid you're going to pick the wrong color, you wonder if dang President's wife sitting over there has a trade mark on one of these, you're all checking the labels..
You wanna look like you're actually doing something other than wondering if you had any of that broccoli left in your teeth from lunch..
whatever.
So ANGIE sits you down in this big comfy massage chair.
This chair is awkward for three reasons.
okay, #1 its like a dadgum thrown (which is so fine because I'm a princess), but now you got this foreign chick is rubbing your feet, and legs when you remember you forgot to shave your legs this morning....and last week.
So basically you feel even more awkward because you're thinking she thinks you're dirty
Now #2,you have to deal with this dang remote, the one that is bigger than your freaking arm. You dont know what the hell button to push because you know if you push that ONE wrong button its going to start reason number #3...
"tapping"................................
-.-
(this is 'the look' for you that are unfamiliar with such icon.)
man that freggin thing gets going and you instantly sit up because its causing you to shimmy like Shakira.
Well now you feel overly awkward and the tiniest bit scandals because of the way you've got your goodies shimmying all over the place in front of the
Michelle Obama and all these sweet foreigners.
No wonder American's have such a bad rep!!
THE NAIL SALON SHIMMY
Now 'Angie' has to put on her latex gloves on to rub my feel as she begins to whisper in N.S.G. (nail salon gossip)...
of course I don't know, but I would assume my responses would be something like...
"COME ON NOW ANGIE!!! It's winter time, I know its been too long since I have been here..hey, hey..now come on, NO Genuis did not call me,
they're not that long!!"
So paint goes on, cool, great, thanks Ang.
(yeah, we're on a half-first-American-name basis now
Now wants you to waddle like a old, pregnant, penguin , barefoot across the salon's floor.
So I spray this suckers down and jet out the door, I've had enough. Catch ya on the flip side Ang ;)

Tell me,
am I the only one that can't relax while getting a pedicure?

Counting Down, Day 55

Psalm 55:13-14, But it is you, a man like myself, my companion, my close friend, with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship at the house of God, as we walked about among the worshipers.

And The Count Down Begins..

Tomorrow will be exactly 8 weeks away from the day that I begin Photogenx in Kona, Hawaii.
That means that today is day...

57, you guessed it.

So, I have come up with a little way to entertain myself...and the rest of you that are as excited as I am!

Everyday I will post a new picture of the number of days that are left in the count down.
Each week will have a theme.

Week 8: Kitchen
Week 7: Everyday items
Week 6: Around Town
Week 5: Electronics
Week 4: Nature
Week 3: Body
Week 2: Music
Week 1: My Family

Each day will have my favorite verse from the number of the day's chapter, in
Psalms.

Day 57: Psalms 57:9-10
I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, reaching to the heavens;your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

Hope you all enjoy counting down with me!
I love to hear any suggestions or ideas!

Counting Down, Day 56

Psalms 56:13, For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.

I shot the lovely Leonard ladies in the snow at Frost Chapel

I found the perfect guy

The older I get the more I think about getting married.

I know the ring I want.

I know the dress I want.

I know the flowers I want.

I know what bridesmaids dress I want.

The location

Photographer?
The*Reason, of course!!!

The song I'm going to dance to with my daddy.
"Little Miss Magic" -Jimmy Buffett

The delima? The Man.

Bad date after bad date, bad boyfriend after bad boyfriend..I've become really picky, which is making these bad dates not become bad boyfriend.

Boyfriend check list:

loves Jesus
smart
gentleman: opens all my doors, pulls out my chair, stands up when I walk in the room/ up to the table, never makes me do anything basically.
funny
outgoing
romantic
well rounded/ cultured
a man that takes insensitive
open minded
hard working
good with kids
creative
caring
honest/ trust worthy
a man's man
committed

any takers?

I guess it's true every girl wants a man like her daddy, because my daddy exceeds every single one of these traits.

The righteous who walks in his integrity– blessed are his children after him! Proverbs 20:7

After over 20 years, my dad still comes home and smiles the biggest when he kisses my mom. I suppose my mom is a little smarter than I get her credit for, but that's another blog for another time.

I love you daddy!

Daughters will love like you do

So mothers, be good to your daughters too" -John Mayer
